about
During a meal conversation with Robert Fripp, he explained that the odd meters (especially 5 and 7) have an enlivening, energizing quality. Later, yours truly recognized that 5, in particular, is the number of human contact: 5 fingers with which to caress our aspiration; 5 toes on which to balance our humility (humus is literally the earth); 5 senses with which to apprehend the cosmos; 5 feelings (wish, hope, belief, acceptance, love) hidden deep within the breast. Five is the number of enlivened and energized human contact. In Watership Down, Fiver the Rabbit, descendent of Prince of Rabbits., is named so because of his contact with a larger world. :-)
